Do the wineries have tasting fees?

A few wineries charge tasting fees. Some wineries apply this fee to a purchase. Others might include a souvenir glass with the fee. Some tasting rooms have a two tier fee, one for the main line of wines and one for reserve wines.

Is there Tasting Room Etiquette

Yes! Please see the following points:

  • DRINK RESPONSIBLY - THOSE LITTLE OUNCES ADD UP
  • As you enter the tasting room head for the tasting bar. A host will greet you and get you started with wine glasses and explain what wines are available for tasting and if there are any tasting fees.
  • Some tasting rooms will require that you pay a fee to taste the wine. Some wineries apply this fee to a purchase. Others might include a souvenir glass with the fee. Some tasting rooms have a two tier fee, one for the main line of wines and one for reserve wines.
  • White wines are tasted first, followed by red wines, and then dessert wines.
  • Normally you would not ask for a second taste of one particular wine unless you indicate that you are interested in purchasing the wine.
  • You do not have to drink all the wine in your glass. Toss the unwanted wine in your glass into the dump bucket provided for this purpose.
  • Sometimes a neutral food will be provided, such as plain crackers. The purpose of the food is to clear the palate after tasting each particular wine.
  • Have patience with the wine pourer - they'll get to you.
  • Purchase wine - assuming it is in your budget and you like it, then spring for it. This is especially true in small wineries where the winery itself may be the only place to purchase the wine.

Is there a schedule?

We realize it is your day off and you don’t want to be on a strict schedule. Our drivers do their very best to make your day enjoyable and relaxing. That being said, we do contact the wineries a few days in advance to let them know our itinerary. Often the tasting room managers will have an extra person on staff to support your group based on the arrival time we give them. Therefore, we try to stick to the itinerary to make the most of your day.

What if we go over our reserved time?

When planning a custom tour reserve the coach for as long as you think you will want it. Underestimating time as a way to save a few bucks will cost more in the long run. Sometimes we will book a coach for another event after yours therefore there is not a lot of extra time. However, there are times when the coach is available to go longer and then it is not a big deal. Please note: any time used over the reserved hours is billed at $70/half hour and is due IN CASH at the end of the tour. If you don't have cash, we will immediately bill it to the credit card we have on file.

Can we consume alcohol on the coach?

Yes, you may consume alcohol that you have purchased while on your tour only. We want you to enjoy yourself, but PLEASE REMEMBER, this is not a "booze cruise". Our drivers have the right to end the tour immediately if any guest acts inappropriately. We cannot supply or purchase alcohol for you.

Are there any extra costs once the tour starts?

The only other things you may be charged for are:

  • Lunch, dinner, gratuity and any tasting fees are not included.
  • Time overage at $70 per half hour
  • Vomit fee of $100 per incident (please don’t drink that much)
  • Spill fee of $10 per incident
  • Glass breakage fee of $10 per glass
